What Is BPI Certification?
BPI (Building Performance Institute, Inc) is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as a qualified developer of American National Standards.
BPI develops standards for energy efficiency retrofit work using an open, transparent, consensus-based process built on sound building science. From these standards, they’ve developed professional credentials for individuals, accreditation for contracting companies – including quality assurance programs – that help raise the bar in home performance contracting.
They serve the community as a not-for-profit organization, combining consensus methods with building science professionals from across North America to create informed standards for business everywhere.
These standards have built and continue to build accessible industry criterions and a workforce of trained professionals. Certification, accreditation, and quality assurance have become ingrained in services across the board, raising the bar throughout the home performance and energy contracting industry.
